Whether students are planning on a college career or technical training, our science department offers a variety of hands-on relevant lab work that utilizes the science and application of the underlying concepts as they relate to the real world. We offer a strong and diverse array of fundamental programs for every level of learner. We own a 120-acre school forest which is used in the forestry and aquatic programs. Our school's interdisciplinary greenhouse and forestry program has established a tradition of excellence in the area of utilizing community resources to build real-world learning environments.

Language Arts
Our new Prentice Hall curriculum for literature and writing provides opportunities to meet the needs of students of all skill levels in grades 6-12. Besides basic courses, we offer classes in journalism, humanities, and novels. Electives also include unique performance classes in both theater arts and oral interpretation. These classes culminate in full-blown public performances, giving students experience in play production as well as speaking before a live audience.
For students who are behind grade level, our department includes a certified reading teacher as well as Read-180, a nationally-recognized computer-based remedial reading program.

Social Sciences
The social studies department strives to make students responsible citizens. We offer hands-on opportunities through plays, hands-on work, technology discussion and presentations and field trips. Students have the opportunity to take higher level social studies courses, such as Criminal Justice, 20th Century history, college psychology and college sociology and to meet civic leaders and State Representatives throughout the year. Our teachers are world travelers and love to share their excitement about our world.
